The High Velocity Ditch Checks 14 & 24 (HVDC 14 & 24)
The HVDC 14 approved Jan 14th, 2025 is a smaller version High Velocity Ditch Check designed for smaller V-ditches.
The HVDC 24 was GSWCC approved May 26, 2022 and is approved by GDOT.
Replaces rock check dams with a cost effective alternative.
Available in two sizes 14′ & 24′
The HVDC advantages:
Cheaper to install and remove than rock check dams.
Reduces channeling by releasing the storm water in a controlled leveled manor. Rock check dams release water at the lowest point.
Promotes vegetative establishment.
Low Velocity Ditch Check Kit (LVDC)
Approved Jan 14th, 2025
Designed as a temporary barrier to slow the velocity of channel storm water. Resists undermining associated with traditional wattles used in this capacity.
A multi-component system consisting of:
A durable woven geotextile sleeve filled with kiln dried pine chips. An underlying attached front water seal and rear scour guard to prevent undermining.
Compression stakes and sod staples to maintain placement.
Preassembled and sold as a kit to ensure quality control and ease as well as consistency of installation.
