The High Velocity Ditch Checks 14 & 24 (HVDC 14 & 24)

The High Velocity Ditch Check is a replacement for rock or fabric check dams / ditch checks. It is designed as a temporary barrier to slow the velocity of concentrated stormwater and facilitate controlled release through the fabric onto the rear scour guard.

It is easily installed and removed without heavy machinery, is durable, and requires minimal maintenance. It is a multi-component system with each piece contributing to the performance of the system. The system is designed to conform to the contour and width of ditch slopes preventing bypass and providing strength to withstand concentrated flow.

This product is offered in two prefabricated sizes: HVDC-24 is 24 foot wide with a 24” overflow to accommodate flat bottom, trapezoidal ditches and the HVDC-14 is a 14 foot wide version with 16” overflow for “V shaped” ditches. The velocity restrictor sheet is made from green mesh that allows floatables to contribute to the filtration of stormwater and makes cleaning fast and simple. Pine chip filled compression tubes held in place with compression stakes prevent undermining. The attached front water seal and rear scour guard also prevent undermining and ditch scouring. It is preassembled and sold as a kit to ensure quality control and consistency of installation.

Low Velocity Ditch Check Kit (LVDC)

Designed as a temporary barrier to slow the velocity of channel storm water. Resists undermining associated with traditional wattles used in this capacity.

A multi-component system consisting of:

A durable woven geotextile sleeve filled with kiln dried pine chips. An underlying attached front water seal and rear scour guard to prevent undermining.

Compression stakes and sod staples to maintain placement.

Preassembled and sold as a kit to ensure quality control and ease as well as consistency of installation.

The Silt Fence Outlet (SFO)

The Silt Saver Silt Fence Outlet is a structurally enhanced device that can be used as a dewatering outlet incorporated into a perimeter sediment barrier or as a stand-alone filter dam to dissipate velocity and retain sediment in concentrated stormwater flow across drainage ways.  Incorporated into the perimeter sediment barrier, it retains sediment and provides controlled stormwater release, thus preventing catastrophic silt fence failure caused by stormwater that can become trapped behind the fence.

This prefabricated product is created to replace bulky hardware cloth and gravel. It is easily installed and removed without heavy machinery, is durable, and requires minimal maintenance. It is a multicomponent system with each piece contributing to the performance of the system. The 2 Stage outlet offers a dual purpose design with Stage 1 for greater sediment retention (non-woven filter fabric, closest to the ground) and Stage 2 for controlled stormwater release and filtration (high visibility, high flow green mesh providing > 1100gpm/ft2). Pine chip filled compression tubes held in place with compression stakes prevent undermining. Attached front water seal and rear scour guard prevents scouring that also leads to undermining. It is preassembled and sold as a kit to ensure quality control and consistency of installation.
