Silt fence is a temporary sediment barrier. It is designed to impound stormwater and remove sediment from storm water to protect the integrity of nearby bodies of water. All Silt Saver sediment control products are designed to meet the need for structural integrity, controlled storm water release, and sediment retention. We recognize that the type of silt fence that you use should be determined by the topography, soil type, and hydrology of the given project. Regulations also vary between municipalities and local issuing authorities (LIAs) determining the Best Management Practices (BMPs) in your area. The Silt Saver Silt Fence Outlet is a sediment barrier outlet designed to work with your perimeter protection to retain sediment and provide controlled stormwater release, thus preventing catastrophic silt fence failure if stormwater is trapped behind the fence. This prefabricated product is created to replace bulky hardware cloth and gravel. It is easily installed and removed without heavy machinery, is durable, and requires minimal maintenance. It is a multicomponent system with each piece contributing to the performance of the system. The 2 Stage outlet offers a dual purpose design with Stage 1 for greater sediment retention (non-woven filter fabric, closest to the ground) and Stage 2 for controlled stormwater release and filtration (high visibility, high flow green mesh providing > 1100gpm/ft2). Pine chip filled compression tubes held in place with compression stakes prevent undermining. Attached front water seal and rear scour guard prevents scouring that also leads to undermining. Silt Saver Priority 1 Belted Silt Retention Fence (P-1™, BSRF™) is a reinforced silt fence with greater then 96% efficiency of sediment retention designed for heavy duty sensitive areas. It is a 36” tall, non-woven spun-bond polyester fabric with a fiberglass internal scrim for added support. The fence utilizes oak / hardwood wood stakes (13/4” X 1 ¼” X 48”) and a specific method of attachment (bonding strips) to enhance the strength of the system. The BSRF, when installed as specified, produces a proven system with superior filtering capabilities in slurry conditions. This fence is available as 48-foot pre-staked rolls with 4 foot spacing. It is a nominal 30 sieve woven polypropylene geotextile created with five >350 lb. tensile strength belts woven into the fabric making this line of silt fence one of the strongest on the market. The internal belts used as attachment points allow this fabric to distribute the weight of stormwater and sediment throughout the system allowing the fence to hold maximum loads without additional support. The fence is 36” tall and available prestaked on 1 ¾” X 1 ¼” X 4’ hardwood posts or as master rolls for application on wood or steel posts. The 2 Stage WBSF was designed specifically to meet the challenge of those areas on your site with heavier than normal stormwater flow. Heavy stormwater flow often leads to silt fence failures by creating undermining below the fence or over topping above, both of which threaten structural integrity and sediment retention. This 2 Stage fence was engineered with both controlled stormwater release and sediment retention in mind. It is a woven geotextile with four >350lb. tensile strength belts woven into the fabric making this silt fence one of the strongest on the market. The Silt Saver High Visibility Delineation Fence is a barrier fence created with structural integrity in mind. It is made from woven high-density polyethylene (HDPE) creating a durable fabric and sustainable ultraviolet (UV) coloration and attached to sturdy 1 ¼" X 1 ¼" X 60” oak posts. Its unique method of attachment (sandwiching the fabric between the post and a bonding / lattice strip) allows the fence to withstand the pressures of nature and nearby construction. The fence is 4’ tall and available in 100’ lengths, pre-staked at 8’ centers. It is available in Orange (Caution / warning / danger) or Green (Water bodies and environmentally sensitive areas).
